Group Camp Heroes & Villains 25th July to 1st August 2015

CampIt has been 5 years since our last group camp and our next one is this Summer from Saturday 25thJuly to Saturday 1st August at Blacklands Farm in East Grinstead and every member is invited.

It’s a rare occasion for all section members to attend the same camp and we have arranged a fun packed and interactive camp for everyone and is not to be missed.

Everyday a new challenge will be set for our Heroes to try and defeat the Villains, plus each Section will also be doing their own on-site activities ranging from Grass sledging for Beavers, Archery/Crate Stacking for Cubs and Scouts. Everyone gets to go on the Bluebell Railway & participate in traditional Scout skills and climbing.

Cub, Scout & Explorer sections will be attending for the full week, with Beavers plus their families and some of the younger Cubs can attend the mini-camp from Saturday 25th July – Wednesday 29th July. Please note that all Beavers must bring at least one parent/guardian to camp.

Please confirm via My.SCOUT by 31st January 2015 to reserve your place. A deposit of 20% will then be required, followed by a 2nd payment of 50% on 3rd March and the balance on 30th June.

Sophie’s Stars Charity Challenge 2015

From Denise Hyman (Robin – 2nd Bracknell Bisons)

On February 28th 2015 myself and a few others will be taking part in a fund-raising challenge to help raise funds for The Shooting Star Chase Children’s Hospice which is a charity that cares for babies, children and young people with life limiting conditions and not expected to reach their 19th birthday.

The charity supports the families from diagnosis to end of life throughout bereavement providing nursing, practical, emotional and medical care, Shooting Star Chase is a charity very close to my heart as they provided care and support when they looked after my niece at the end of her very short life.

broadgate tower

The challenge we are taking on is The Broadgate Tower stair climb in London - this will see us climb 877 steps over 35 floors soaring over 540ft of the London skyline.

If anyone would either care to join us in our challenge or sponsor us it would be greatly appreciated not just by our team (Sophie’s Stars) but also by the charity itself and the families it supports.

Donations can be made to our fundraising page: www.virginmoneygiving.com/team/sophiesstars3

Many Thanks for your support.
