Map Readers Camp

May 2012 saw us camping at a favourite site of ours, Walton Firs near Cobham. The theme of the camp was the Map Readers badge and all those that came with us achieved the badge, although we are sure they had more fun just running around and of course on the infamous adventure course!

Cubs Backwoods Camp

In March 2012, we had a an indoor camp at a site new to us, Harmergreen Wood Campsite in Hertfordshire. The indoor accomodation could only cater for a small number but as we were travelling in the group minibus, this worked out fine. We had the campsite to ourselves, which meant that there was a very large woods for all sorts of fun and games.

2nd Bracknell Explorers conquer the Monopoly Challenge 2012

26 teams of Explorers from the South of England arrived in London on the 3rd March to take part in the Monopoly Challenge 2012.

Pictured are the four teams of Olympian Explorers from 2nd Bracknell who walked (or jogged) and rode on public transport to race around the monopoly locations of our capital city, buying property and completing a quiz as they went. They gathered at the end of the day aboard The Lord Amory in the docklands for a well deserved meal and competition results. They were delighted when positive attitude, great team work and dedication paid off as the teams came 10th, 9th, 3rd and 1st in the competition.

Cubs Wild West Summer Camp

Summer 2011 saw us returning to what is probably our favourite campsite – Cranham. The theme of the camp was Wild West and all the Cubs were indians and the leaders were the cowboys (guess who was the sherriff!). We only had a few Cubs on this camp but a great time was had by all.

Shelterbox Scavenger Hunt

Saturday 16th July 2011: – First it drizzled, then it rained, and finally, it poured. However, not even the great British summer could dampen the spirits of the hundreds of Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and Guides who took part in ShelterBox’s 2011 London Scavenger Hunt! Over 110 teams competed to be crowned the winners – despite the challenging weather! Teams saw many of London’s most famous landmarks, including Trafalgar Square and the Houses of Parliament. They also undertook numerous challenges which included being blindfolded, building bridges and much more!
