The District Swimming Gala took place on Sunday 27 November. Once again the District is grateful to the Licensed Victuallers School on London Road for allowing us to use their pool for the afternoon.
As usual the event was split into 2 age groups with the under 9½ races taking place first. Normally, any one competitor is limited to a maximum of two pointed events plus the relay. However, the District have again relaxed the rule this year as otherwise there wouldn’t be enough teams to make it a good competition.
Well done to all those who swam. Our overall points score did not reflect the amount of effort that was put in by all our swimmers. Cubs who came first or second in their heats went through to the finals. Where a position is shown it is the position in the final.

If you were in our teams have you got your Swimmers badge yet? It is a five stage badge but unfortunately just taking part in the gala does not complete it – although it does count as an “organised event” for part 7. If you have swimming lessons just print off a copy of the requirements and get your swimming teacher to sign to say you can do it.
You can see how we got on in previous years by visiting our Past Events page.
